Feather squeaked and flinched slightly, not really liking how the water actually touched her pelt. Drinking water? Okay. Playing in water and getting wet? No. Just no. "I'm not paranoid...I just don't want to get hurt..." she mewed softly, trotting to a thiner part of the stream, easily leaping across, just letting out a small hiss as one back paw fell in, making her trip and tumble. Falling flat on her face. Feather let out a small unhappy grumble, sliding forward and standing again. "See! Any place can be dangerous if you aren't careful. I'm just lucky there was no sharp rock where my head landed..." her eyes widened slightly at the thought. "It would of killed me! I would of bled to death and my skull would be smashed in..." She shuddered slightly, tail twitching.

River giggled, bounding over to Feather. "It's just water, silly! Don't be afraid! And falling down here is fine. I mean, I've fallen down in places so rocky, you can't imagine! I didn't bleed to death," she purred, helping her up. "Besides, I know a few healing techniques. I'm no... what do they call it? Healing cats? Maybe Medicine cats? I don't know, but I can heal a wound if I need to anyway." She checked Feather over anyway, though she didn't expect anything. After seeing nothing big in particular, except a tiny little cut on her chin. River pounced around ecstatically.

The silverish grey she-cat looked behind her shoulder again, her tail twitching back and forth. "I should probably go home...I mean, I don't want to ruin your fun...and by now the twolegs would of had the food ready to eat...maybe I could get some scraps from them..." she mewed, glancing over her shoulder again. "Or maybe they might give me tuna. Besides, you are just fine on your own, like you said, you are pretty much a wildcat. They don't need anyone to fool around with, from what I heard." She mumbled, turning toward the stream again. "But who cares what those wildcats call the ranks in their...gangs. For all I know all of them are supposed to fight and kill anyone that comes onto their territory that isn't welcome. And they ate their kits for all I know. But I really don't want to find out," she mewed, sniffing the air again cautiously. "And it's getting a bit too late for me to be out here, I heard the wildcats come out at this time and look for trouble..." She shook her head and padded for the edge again, leaping over successfully this time, her tail twitching back and forth still.

"No! Wait!" River mewed, leaping over and barring Feather's way. "You want food? Trust me, real prey is better than those little pellets they give you Want fish? Fine." River padded back to the stream and sat completely still in front of the water, until a dull silver shape darted about. She stared at it, deeo blue eyesdarting about with it, until with no warning a paw shot out, followed by a splash and a small silver fish flopping up on land. River held it under a paw and dug her claws in, killing it in seconds. "Here! Better than that old weird-tasting tuna they'll give ya," she mewed, pushing it to Feather, making a face. She knew the silver she-cat would probably not accept it, but River wouldn't give up until River had a more open mind.

Feather twitched her ears. "I don't see what's wrong with the dry food they give me..." she mewed, blinking. She took a small sniff of the silver colored fish, a bit unsure. "You sure it will taste better than tuna...? It smells cold and slimey..." she mewed quietly. Then she just crouched low to the ground and took a small bite out of it, wrinkling her nose in distaste. She swallowed and let out a snort. "That doesn't taste good...it tastes like someone froze a tuna into a block of ice and chipped it out. Who likes raw fish, anyways?" she mumbled, shaking her head before standing yet again. "See, this is food for savage wildcats like you. Not for tame kittypets like me. See, I just prefer tuna and dry food over this wildcat food."

River rolled her eyes, giving the silver tabby a light push with her muzzle, chasing ahead back to the barn. "You'll never learn to really enjoy life until you realize the pros to giving up kittypet life and be more open to it!" she mewed behin her shoulder, deep blue eyes shimmering playfully and her tail swishing as she ran. "Do you really want to be trapped inside a nest all day being grabbed by twolegs and do everything the same each day?" Her gaze was slightly taunting, her expression sneaky and suddenly she turned and leaped to the side, running into the forest on a very faint, pine needle and leaf covered unused twoleg path lined with ferns. She slowed to a light jog, to a stalking walk as she glanced behind her to see if Feather would really come.
[ooc] If she doesn't come River will probably drag her over. xDDDDD

"But then you know what's coming if you do everything the same every day, and you won't be surprised by something negative. I enjoy life enough as it is, it's an easy life; and like some say, the easier the better. And besides, twolegs always are there to take care of me and allow me to live in their nest." Feather mewed, watching River for a moment. Then of course the she-cat had to look over her shoulder, unsure. "Are you sure it's safe that way River? Do wildcats come that way...are you sure it's safe? It looks a bit dark..." she mewed, scanning ahead, staying in one place before looking in the direction of the twoleg barn. "I really think I should be going by now...and I don't know if that place would be great for me to go...my fur might get messy or wet..." she mewed, trying to give herself excuses for not going. Lame excuses, if you ask me.

River sighed and trotted back, grabbing Feather's scruff and dragging her along the trail. "See, the more you think about it, the worse it seems. No, it's not as bad as you think! Just come on!" she mumbled through the silver she-cat's scruff. After a bit of dragging, River released her and padded ahead, scenting the air carefully here and there, and after a bit she dropped into a low crouch and tapped her tail on Feather's shoulder to tell her to get down as well. She looked around with her big, clear blue eyes and stalked forward to peer through the undergrowth that overcrowded the dirt twoleg path.

Feather's shoulders tensed as she followed, looking over her shoulder every few pawsteps. "See, this place is filthy. I bet it's worse than I think it is, I bet the second another cat shows up, it'll kill me and mangle my body." she muttered, looking over her shoulder again. Feather narrowed her eyes slightly in thought, just able to imagine that actually happening to her, while the fur on the back of her neck began to rise. "Are you sure it's safe there...?" she mewed, sniffing the air again, her ears pinned back by now. "I don't think we should be here either...and is the twoleg place close...? I can't smell it...and I can't smell the barn...we really shouldn't be this far away from the barn, or at least I shouldn't." Feather mewed, taking another glance over her shoulder. "And are you sure it's safe here...there might be someone watching us...so when we are vulnerable they could mangle our bodies and eat us..."
ooc// xDD I love my paranoid Feather.

River turned away and shushed her sharply, eyes blazing. "It's safe! Okay? I know my way back, but there are some twolegs here I'd rather avoid. So shush, okay?" she whispered, tail lashing. After scenting the air a few times, twitching her ears and watching carefully, River stood and swept her tail forward and led Feather into a very small clearing surrounded by some depressed looking willows all over. In the middle was a worn down twoleg nest, and as River crept forward she glanced nervously toward it. "We just have to get past here. Then I can show you something." She looked behind her at Feather, eyes firm.
[ooc] >3 *has plans* Feather just has to make some noise.... *wink*

Feather looked over her shoulder again. "I don't know River...really, I don't really think I should be here...I belong back home...and I should get home...the twolegs might get worried...you know...and I might of missed dinner..." she meowed, glancing over her shoulder once again. "And it doesn't seem safe to me, you never know." She looked over her shoulder again before just following quietly.
ooc// Sorry, really short, since I have to hurry.

"Shhhhh!" River hissed quietly, but it was too late; a ferocious barking began and the rickety wooden fence shook violently, creaking loudly. "Run!" she yowled, spinning on her heels and turning back on the trail. She pushed Feather, and glanced behind her to see three huge dogs, foaming at the mouth, loping alog behind her, giant paws pounding on the floor. She flattened her ears and ran faster, until the open trail was in front of her. "Go to the barn! They can't get up the hayloft," she hissed, wheeling the other way in the direction of the meadow. She knew it wouldn't help, but she had promised Feather nothing would hurt her and she had to keep that promise. She limped slightly to convince the dogs she would be easier prey, though she kept up a great pace.

Feather had let out an alarmed shriek when the dog had launched out of the fence, her fur standing on end by now. Her paws pounded on the ground, her eyes wide. It had taken awhile for her to even reach the barn, adrenaline pumping in her veins. The terror held within her eyes obvious. She had slowed when she came closer to the barn, just about ten yards away. Feather panted, her chest heaving with effort. The small silverish she-cat collapsed into a heap of bristling light colored fur. I hope you are safe, River... the small she-cat thought, letting out a small cough. I knew it was not safe out there...I knew it.

River ran to the center of the meadow, fur standing on end. What do I do now... I know I've dealt with dogs before but.... UGH! I don't know!, she thought, frustrated and, yes she would admit it, scared. The dogs were different from some she had dealt with, they prowled around, circling her and spreading out until she was surrounded on three sides. She tried to watch all, but she couldn't They moved in closer, and closer, and River knew she had to run or die. She picked out the smallest and found the most open spot, it's most vurnarable spot and exploded away, leaving two very shocked beasts spiralin around. The other, the biggest, ignored them and began the chase again, easily leaping or crashing through any obstacle. She jumped into a tall tree, and the dogs beat at it. "Now what," she murmured. "I can't sit here forever."

Feather let out another small cough, trying to catch her breath still. I haven't ran like that in forever and a half, she thought, her head spinning with several thoughts. Ranging from her friend's welfare, to even the twolegs. The silverish she-cat shuddered slightly, watching the two shapes of her twolegs converse on the deck, as if they could not see their little kittypet. Probably they couldn't, either. She was so small, and she was really in no mood for her twolegs to pick her up and comfort her. I really hope River is all right, it's all my fault...it's my fault she could possibly be torn apart by the dogs...It's my fault... she thought, curling up into a tight ball of fur.
